300 Robins Can't Be Wrong...

Hurry up! They're almost gone!
Now add a hundred or so of his closest friends all calling and flashing from tree to tree...all day long for the past two days and you get an idea of the party that was going down in the woods at Dean. I'm pleased with the berry crop that the Dogwoods produced this year, I was concerned it may have been lackluster due to the drought of the summer. I wish some of these guys would fly over to our house, which is only about a mile away. Our Dogwoods seem to be getting ignored, the berries are starting to fall to the ground.

"What are you lookin' at?"
"Must...eat...more...berries"

  1. Were there any other new arrivals feeding with the Robins?

  2. Hi Sasha! The Robins were definitely the main berry thieves. There were several Northern Flickers that have just returned to the area for the fall/winter. The furious activity of the Robins did, however, draw in all the "regulars" to join in the chatter.

  3. Love the pics! I hate seeing people plant the Kousa Dogwood that produces fruit the birds won't eat... cornus florida is ALWAYS popular!

  4. Love the commentary. We had a huge flock of grackles in the yard this week. They're so loud when they're all talking at once.

  5. Thanks everybody,

I'm not a fan of Kousa Dogwoods either, they became popular here when local nurseries stopped selling Cornus Florida because of the dogwood blight.

Ugh! Grackles! They definitely are boisterous!
